Coding conventions

The primary language of the solution source code is C# .Net Core.

The coding converting must follow Microsoft guidelines, which can be found here:

• C# identifier naming rules and conventions
• Common C# code conventions
• Secure coding guidelines

Furthermore, the .NET projects are set up to mark warnings as errors. This is in place to ensure we don't end up in a situation with endless warnings that are ignored.

The repository uses the .editorconfig files extensively. There is a root config file here. To override the behavior outlined in this file, a new .editorconfig can be places in any sub-folder to override in only that and following subfolders. The purpose of the .editorconfig file is to streamline conding conventions and rules to ensure a common ground for code styling.
